Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig November 21, 1983) is an American actress best recognized for her performances in the roles of Shannon Rutherford on the ABC television series Lost and Kim Mills in the Taken trilogy. Maggie Grace was born in Worthington located in Ohio left high school, and relocating to Los Angeles after her divorced parents divorced. In the midst of financial hardship, she got her first part as the title character in the web-based video series Rachel's Room in 2001. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as the 15 year old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder which aired in Greenwich. Grace Rutherford was the lead actor in Lost during its initial two seasons. In 2004, she was awarded the Screen Actors Guild Award with all the cast. Grace wanted to focus on film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. In addition, she appeared as Kim Mills in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club (both 2007) and also starred alongside Liam Neeson as Kim Mills in Taken in the year 2008. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) were her reprises of these roles. Grace returned to the character of Shannon in two more episodes of Lost which included the finale of the series. Grace appeared on Californication's 6th season which ran from 2013 until the year 2014. She portrays Faith as a female groupie and also a model for actors. Hank Moody is played by David Duchovny. She belongs to the Gyllenhaal clan as well as the younger sister of Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as an early teenager, when she appeared in small role in films made by her father. She also worked with her brother on the 2001 cult film Donnie Darko. She also appeared as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal was praised by critics in both of her roles as the lead of Secretary (2002) as well as in Sherrybaby (2006), the erotic drama about romance as well as Sherrybaby (2006). She was also nominated by her fellow actors for the Golden Globe Award. In the wake of several successful commercial films in 2006 such as World Trade Center she received wider recognition for playing Rachel Dawes in the superhero film The Dark Knight (2008). In the film, her performance as Crazy Heart as a mother with a single child was nominated in the Academy Award Best Supporting Actress. In the following years, she was in comedies and dramas, including Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 Some of her other roles are as an agent of the Secret Service in White House Down 2013. She also appeared as a vocalist in Frank 2014 and as a singer in The Kindergarten Teacher 2018, where she portrays the main role. Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her first feature film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
